1) Avoid Vibration Mode
Many people just use vibration along with their ringtone. It is totally unnecessary, either vibration or ringtone will do. Vibration consumes a lot of battery charge compared to ringtone. But there are also times when vibration is necessary, limit its use to such situations alone.
2) Do Not Switch Off
Some people think it would save some battery charge, but what actually happens is the reverse. Never switch your phone off frequently without any important reason. A lot of battery power is wasted during every booting of your smartphone.
3) Lower The Display Brightness
You don't really need the display brightness set to 'high' when indoors. Always try to have the brightness settings 'low' in your phone as it will not only help in longer battery life, but also save your eyes from strain.
4) Turn Off Backlight
Reduce the backlight turnoff period to 5 seconds,which is just good enough for most of us. The battery charge is simply wasted when your display glows longer without any use.
5) Avoid Screen Savers
Well, screensavers were used in very old monitors to avoid screen damage due to static image. Our present day displays doesn't need it actually. So, avoid using screensavers in your phone as it would simply consume much of your battery charge.
6) No More Keytones
Keytones are irritating beeps that you should definitely avoid. And yes, you are also saving some battery charge when keytones are turned off.
7) Limit Your Gaming
With all those stunning games that are available for our smartphones, it's hard not to play it. But, games are also known to be notorious battery eaters. Inorder to extend your gadget's battery life, gaming must be limited.
8) Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
When not in use, turnoff your phone's bluetooth and Wi-Fi as it can ruin your battery charge by automatically searching for networks.
9) Close Unused Apps
With the superior multi-tasking capabilities of smartphones, it is likely that we forget to close an app after using it. These apps, keep running in the background consuming RAM as well as our precious battery. So, always close the apps after using them or employ a task manager for taking care of it.
